Timeless Queries

Time keeps going, Turning all of us  Into figments of imagination. Tricked and treasured, Picked and pleasured. The ultimate aim of life To be satisfied, To be wanted, To be needed, To have power, That becomes our downfall. But little do we know, That all this Might just be happening, Because of some guy’s  Bad decisions.

The Eccentric Mind

I know you feel That pain within When everything keeps crumbling, It’s dust and memories That makes you go crazy. It’s perfect Because it reflects All the madness within. The fear and destruction, The deadly silence and wailing screams  That erupt When least expected. The torture, the unnatural feeling That this is not normal. But for all that we know This is natural And we are not.

Curiosity Killed the Cat

Last year in the month of December, I went to my native village where my grandparents live in a cottage on the foothills of the Himalayas. One day, I was standing on the edge of a dense forest. Suddenly, I hear this singing voice. Beautiful yet chilling. It seemed to be coming from the middle of the forest. I recognised it as a female voice, just singing vocables, no lyrics. I, being the curious person I am, decided to find the source of this beautiful sound. I began my journey through the forest, relying on my hearing to direct me through the vast forest. It was no easy task, seeing that I hadn’t exactly planned on going on a trek through the forest, so my clothing was not that thick and didn’t provide enough warmth to get me through the forest. But still, I really wanted to find out who was singing the beautiful melody and this desire proved to be much stronger than the cold. I was going on strong, trudging through the snow, even after millions of frostbites made their appearance on ...

The Orange Furnace

Wildfire, Setting sun, Something in common? The warmth, The beauty, The package deal  Of devastation  It brings. Those who believe  Won’t survive the night Or those who think Their destiny is fulfilled, How wrong can one be As they realise When at the jaws of death Life was not lived. Author’s Note: This poem was inspired by the Australian Bushfires that occurred in early 2020. The cover art for Sammy Boller’s music album “Kingdom of the Sun” also gave some inspiration.

In Another Life

There once lived a girl. She was a really gifted person, exceptionally brilliant for her age, and was always at the top of her class. She was a person who always preferred to be alone, and distanced herself from everyone, though she never understood why she did that. There was one thing she hated about herself...she wasn’t as good in athletics as she was in everything else. She tried so hard to be devoted to one sport and she pushed herself to her limits in order to achieve so. She finally was smitten by the game of ice hockey. Even at ice hockey practice, she was always alone. She distanced herself from everyone even though she knew she ought to stop that habit. She then decided to search for a best friend. She then took a slight detour, and found a friend in music. She fell in love with it. She dreamt of contributing to the world of music...where she felt she truly belonged. She was quite a fan girl. Once she was fascinated with a personality, she immersed herself with knowledge abou...

The Curtain-Raiser

Hey I’m Tamara Amy Domnic, a student, currently in my teens, from Bangalore, India, looking forward to what college life brings next! This is my first blog, and so I’m gonna introduce myself a bit. Here’s a prologue for what to expect in this journey! I’m a high school graduate of the Class of 2020 and oh boy! What a year has this been! Writing has very much been a part of my life since middle school. It has helped me to cope with some of the darkest times of high school and helped me trudge through it. Writing is an artistic virtue, one that I’m very grateful to posses. I write stories, articles, poems and song lyrics as well, things that help me to process my emotions and the events that happen around me, much better. I enjoy writing and hope that my readers enjoy my written works as well! I am very much invested in acting, music, debating and all things artistic! Doing all these things brings me peace and tranquility. They bring me immense joy! It comes naturally to me, which is why...
